Promised my international friends to do a little summary in English so here we go! Last Sunday I visited Versailles with two of my friends, Annie and Marina. The weather really sucked and it definitely wasn't the best day to go there - but we had no other option! We almost totally missed the gardens because it's no fun to walk around when it's raining cats and dogs... I had two pairs of shoes with me but apparently threw away the other pair after our visit because they were ruined, thanks for the rain and wet ground...
The palace itself was amazingly beautiful and the famous "Hall of mirrors" looked so different compared to the photos I've seen. I almost couldn't recognize it! I kept saying to Annie that there has to be another hall that I've seen photos of, but in the end I realized that it's all the same... Versailles was an amazing experience and I really recommend everyone to visit there while in Paris! Though I think the city of Versailles was even cooler a place! Almost a better experience than the palace ;-) We had a great day tho, after Versailles it was time for Paris again and for a dinner at a cute little restaurant in Saint-Germain.
Versaillessakin tuli tosiaan poikettua viimeisenä sunnuntaina täällä Ranskanmaalla. Sää ei todellakaan ollut hyvä, ja puutarhat jäi oikeastaan kokonaan näkemättä, sillä ketään meistä ei huvittanut kävellä tuolla melkein kaatosateessa... Mulla oli kahdet kengät mukana; lähdin matalakorkoisilla avokkailla, jotka vaihdoin jonottaessa ballerinoihin, mutta ne kastui ihan läpimäräksi ja loppupeleissä heitin ne roskiin visiitin jälkeen... Melkein hyvä, sillä ne alkoi pikkuhiljaa muistuttaa mun edellisiä mustia balleriinoja, jotka oli niiiin elämää nähneet että ;-D
Palatsi oli kuitenkin sisältä uskomattoman kaunis ja kuuluisa peilisali oli niin eri näköinen kuin kuvissa, etten meinannut tunnistaa! Intin Anniella, että täällä on oltava se toinen sali, mikä aina näkyy kaikissa kuvissa, mutta loppupeleissä jälkeenpäin tajusin, että sama sali se on, haha! Upea kokemus, kannattaa todellakin käydä vierailemassa ja samalla poiketa Versailles'n kaupunkiin, jossa me käytiin crêpeseillä. Melkein ihanampi kuin itse palatsi ;-) Päivä oli kuitenkin kokonaisuudessaan tosi hyvä, Versailles'n jälkeen matkattiin takaisin Pariisiin vielä päivälliselle. Juustolautanen ja iso salaatti, kelpaa mulle!
